

Romanah Buchanan is an award-winning creative entrepreneur, artistic director, choreographer, and speaker, widely recognised for her leadership, innovation, and impact across the arts, education, and entrepreneurship.

Her entrepreneurial journey began at just 17, when she co-founded Eloquent Dance, a pioneering creative organisation that has since grown into a multi-branch ecosystem spanning dance, education, talent, and creative spaces. Under her leadership, Eloquent was honoured with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest recognition for community organisations in the UK.

As the Creative Director of Eloquent Dance, Romanah has established the company as a leader in fusing Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Praise Dance into powerful works of performance, empowerment, and worship. Alongside her work with Eloquent, she is an in-demand choreographer and creative director, working across live shows, music videos, and productions. Her portfolio includes collaborations with emerging and established artists, particularly within the UK gospel music scene, where she has become known for shaping movement that brings music and worship to life on stage.

Her creative projects also extend into major commissions and partnerships, including the Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Birmingham Weekender (2023 and 2024), and the Birmingham 23 Festival for the original musical What If.

Passionate about education and empowerment, Romanah regularly serves as a visiting lecturer for performing arts colleges and entrepreneurial establishments, where she shares her expertise in dance, creativity, and business to inspire the next generation of performers and change-makers. She is also gearing up to launch the development of Eloquent College, a new performing arts institution launching in Birmingham, designed to train the next generation of creatives and entrepreneurs.

Beyond her artistic career, Romanah is the founder and host of Move With Purpose, a podcast , community and thought-leadership platform rooted in faith but not limited by it. Created for entrepreneurs, creatives, and leaders navigating business, life, and purpose, the platform explores themes of entrepreneurship, faith, motherhood, relationships, and personal growth. Through honest conversations and transparent storytelling, Romanah equips her audience to align with their purpose, build authentically, and thrive in every area of life.

Her influence extends beyond the studio and stage. Romanah sits on the Midlands Area Council for Arts Council England, shaping the future of the cultural sector at a regional and national level. She is also a sought-after speaker and mentor, passionate about empowering women, young people, and underrepresented communities to step into their purpose through creativity and enterprise.

Her contributions have been recognised with multiple accolades, including Birmingham’s Top 30 Under 30 Most Inspirational Young People (2019), Author of the Year (2021), and the West Midlands Lieutenancy Young Active Citizen Award (2022).
